every word is a room. the word is the first half of the sentence. you write the rest.

1say a word.
any word is a room, and every room is already there. there's no list of them anywhere — if you don't know the word, the room doesn't exist.

2write the rest.
the word already said the first half. you don't have to explain why you're here. whoever walks in thought of the same word.

3leave.
say it and go. your note stays forever, or a month, or a week — you choose. if someone answers, you'll find it in your mail.

a note can stay, or it can fade. you can see which.
my neighbor practices trumpet at 2am. we've never met. i think we're friends.
if you're reading this at 3am too: hi. drink some water.
counted the ceiling cracks again. 14. one of them is new.
you pick when you write: swipe the box sideways. no archive, no undo bin. faded means gone.
one door between people, and it's a small one.

nobody gets sent your way. the people who read you came for the same word.
written for yourself first.
most of what's here was written for the person writing it — a notebook that happens to have a door. if someone who gets it walks by, that's fine too. that's kind of the point.
the first person you meet might be you.
a year from now, same word, same 3am. last year's you is already there, saying the thing you're about to say.
nothing to scroll when you're bored.
no reason to open it except that you have something to say, or you're looking for someone who did. that's on purpose.
numbers only when they're true.
no counts to climb, nothing to rank. a number shows up when it's a fact, never when it's a score.
type a word nobody has used, and you're the first one there.
every room already exists. some of them are just empty for now. the app will tell you so, in its own way.
